LCC- MI ACE Chapter of Women Leaders in Higher Education

Dear LCC Colleagues:
Welcome to the American Council on Education (ACE ) LCC Chapter for Women Leaders in Higher Education. Thank you for participating in the kick-off event with Dr. Thornton. We heard very positive comments from all who attended and a great interest in continuing our discussions. We would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Knight for supporting and sponsoring her visit. Dr. Knight's support is also making it possible for more people to attend the ACE conference in June.

Many of you expressed interest in participating and collaborating with us in order to develop a very active and engaging LCC- ACE Chapter.
As a start, we have scheduled three brown bag lunches in the Administration Boardroom building that will allow us to dialog, learn and network within our members in our institution. We need volunteers to help make these events successful, so please sign up to help. During our first brown bag we will discuss what it means to create an environment of support for women and also discuss chapter formation and activities. Jean Morciglio will be facilitating the discussion that day and our intention is to have plenty of time for talking to each other. We are also bringing several guest speakers to the area in the future.

Please mark your calendars from 11:50 am to 1:00 pm for:
v Thursday, March 5 – Creating a Culture of Support Across Campus
v
Monday, April 6 – Roadmap to Success – Tools and Networking
v Wednesday, May 6 – Balancing Work Commitments and Life Commitments

We look forward to see you on March 5. Remember bring your lunch; water will be provided. Please RSVP to Cora Hugely at 483-1881 or huguelc@lcc.edu.
You will also be receiving an invitation to join a Wiki. When you do, please accept and check out the site. It allows you to sign up to volunteer for our activities.
